BEND, Ore. – Wanderlust Tours has opened its Canoe Tour season with half-day, flat water canoe tours on various stretches of the Deschutes River, including a new reach of calm water close to Bend, which will include a short walk to Dillon Falls. Wanderlust Tours also offers canoe tours on stretches of the river upstream of the Sunriver area. Half-day Deschutes River canoe tours are offered daily at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. until early June when the Cascade Lakes are accessible. Half-day Cascade Lakes canoe tours will then be offered daily June through October. more>

WANDERLUST TOURS AND REI TEAM UP TO CLEAN UP DESERT EAST OF BEND
BEND, Ore. – The staffs of Wanderlust Tours and REI are partnering to clean up areas of Bend's high desert on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. Wanderlust Tours has an annual clean up day each spring where its staff gathers to pick up areas of the desert in and around the mouths of some of the lava caves. REI also has an established community service and conservation program and engages in staff community projects on a regular basis. This year, the two companies are joining its forces to work together for a greater effect. more>

With over 30 inches of snow in the Cascades and the snowfall continuing each day, the conditions are perfect for snowshoeing in the backcountry. Wanderlust ran its first Snowshoe Tours of the season last week and is offering tours daily at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Desert Cave Tours are also available at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily.
