"I wouldn’t change a thing! Very good with young kids and novice canoers During the spring, as the mountain lakes are still melting, the Deschutes River is a wonderful flat-water canoe experience. The upper Deschutes is placid and a prime place to spot all the returning spring bird life. We’ll also keep our eyes open for bald eagles, beaver lodges, native rainbow trout, and mink as we roll down the river. The headwaters of Spring River prove to be just that, ancient well springs that bubble up out of the earth, having descended from high in the Cascades. This is relaxation at its best! |
