Perseids Meteor Shower
Hiking tour
Tuesday, Aug. 12th, 2025
We will be offering two different hiking options - an easy to moderate option or an adventurous option.
Can’t make it for the 12th? We have Perseids Canoe Tours available on Aug. 15, 16 & 17th. The nights surrounding the peak will also provide the opportunity to see meteors!
The Perseids begin on July 17th and end on August 24th. Please book our Moonlight & Starlight Canoe Tour for any other days.
ABOUT THE TOUR
Adventure: Join us on a high alpine lake for a night of celestial wonder! Far from any city lights, with the moon starting below the horizon and rising as we near the end of our time on the water, there will be minimal light pollution, allowing the Perseids meteor shower to truly shine!
Naturalist Guided Experience: We will be offering two different hiking options: an easy - moderate hike or an adventurous hike. For both hikes, we will journey to one of the many stunning buttes in the area, providing us an incredible view of the night sky. We are also running a Perseids Canoe Tour on Aug. 12, 15, 16 & 17th if you’d prefer to take to the lakes!
During your journey, our naturalist guides will highlight the stunning geography, flora, and fauna of the area. They may impart an understanding of the heaven’s starlight illuminating the night sky. Age-old stories and myths mixed with astronomy will enlighten just as the stars and moon do!
