Proper Footwear
A good pair of boots will lead to an incredible experience
It is important to make sure you have the proper footwear to get the absolute most of the beauty and grandeur that snowshoeing through the forests of the Cascade Mountains has to offer. Please take a look at some examples of some great and some not so great footwear options when snowshoeing.
Best Footwear Choice
Bad footwear choice
Waterproof
Well above the ankle
Insulated
Long enough for the cuff of the snowpant to completely cover the top of the boot
Not waterproof
Not above the ankle
No insulation
The ideal type of footwear is a waterproof and insulated boot that goes above your ankle. When snowshoeing, you may often find yourself in fresh untracked powder and having a boot that will keep snow and moisture out while keeping warmth in is always the goal.
If you do not have any boots or shoes that will work for your snowshoe experience, we offer rentals for $10.
