Wanderlust Tours is excited to bring another installment of our Art in Nature outdoor performance series in 2025! The supremely talented local a Cappella group, Bend Camerata, will perform inside the ancient volcanic tuff ring at Fort Rock!
Adventure: Join us for a night of art and stargazing in the Oregon Outback. Our adventure will start with a twilight hike through the stunning Fort Rock, an ancient volcanic tuff ring that rises out of the flatness of the high desert. After learning about this area’s cultural importance, we will settle in for an inspiring performance by local a Cappella group, Bend Camerata, that is sure to delight the soul!
As the moon sets beyond the horizon, Bend Camerata will close out their performance and will cap our night off by gazing toward the cosmos above while enjoying delicious treats!
Naturalist Guided Experience: The tuff ring of Ft. Rock’s pinnacles rise above an ancient ocean bed. It is an area that is locally referred to as the Sagebrush Ocean, a stunning piece of America’s landscape filled with raptors, coyotes and cowboys. The area is also home to some of the oldest evidence of human civilization in North America. Fort Rock is an absolutely incredible stargazing destination, lying just north of the newly designated Oregon Outback Dark Sky Sanctuary. The Oregon Outback as a whole, is the largest contiguous dark sky shed in the United States, boasting some of the best stargazing in the entire world.
