Join the Tower Theatre as they present Take Me to the River - Memphis, a documentary about the soul of American music, followed by Take Me to the River - New Orleans, a LIVE performance by three generations of Crescent City legends playing individually and together in a unique evening of harmony and heritage.
Days after the documentary, join Wanderlust Tours for our own local Take Me to the River- Deschutes style. We will share the inspiration of the natural world through a canoe journey down the Deschutes River, plus the multi-generational music stories of 3 local bands - their mentorship, music and motivations.
Take Me to the River is an event inspired by the soul, and here in Bend, our soul can be found in the rivers, mountains and deserts of Central Oregon. Join us for another moment of confluence between art & nature.

About the Bands
Dry Canyon Trio (a part of Dry Canyon Stampede) is a Country Western dance band. Our members hail from all over the Central Oregon area. Classics to contemporary with a blend of rockin’ rhythms and moving ballads.
The Devils Duo (a part of SilvertoneDevils) play roots rock and roll- there's a love of good old country music as well that comes out along w the Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones and EC.
Alicia Viani (vocals, guitar) and Mark Karwan (vocals, acoustic bass) create an intimate, expressive song-writer performance. their version of folk weaves in jazz, funk and americana influences with personal and provocative lyrics.
Deschutes is the OG from Bend – born in 1988 before the PNW and craft beer became revered. They have unrelenting quality standards and a never-ending curiosity for beer. They promise to always push the boundaries of their beer, food, and service.
The Deschutes River Conservancy has been bringing diverse stakeholders together for over 23 years to restore streamflow and improve water quality in the Deschutes Basin.
The opportunity to be a part of “Take Me to the River” is wonderful because it allows us to show the participants a much challenged section of the Upper Deschutes River where large, ongoing fluctuations in flow have greatly impacted the health of the river.
We are excited to help people understand the current state of the river and what the plans are to fix outdated water delivery and conveyance systems which will ultimately lead to a healthier, more robust Deschutes River.
